A text field opened, and the words of her comment silently filled the screen. [Tina is not typing. For short texts she prefers to use the new MSR sensor technology on her neck. It detects minimal movements of her jaw and sub-muscular impulses of her tongue. MSR stands for Mumble Speech Recognition.]
Thanks! Predictions are always difficult, esp. if they try to cover the future.
I've tried to touch many user interface and media aspects that are important from my point of view, and write a story that brings them together. I could have provided a long list of references to research projects - but this would not be as comprehensive and entertaining to read. Maybe I add some later. The MSR is the most science fiction in here. But if possible it would solve many problems with speech input today.
